Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Bank (MUDRA Bank) is a new institution set up by the Government of India to develop micro units and refinance MFIs to promote entrepreneurship and start-ups.

Mudra Bank has announced to the Hon’ble Finance Minister during the Union Budget that it will increase its support to the unorganized sector.

It has two types of products such as refinancing for micro units with loan requirements from Rs 50 thousand to 10 lakh and supporting Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) for landing.

MUDRA will refinance to micro-enterprises under Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Loan Yojana. The Mudra program is open to all and is unsecured.

The Government of India has issued instructions to the bank to provide Mudra loans to the applicants. Now, several banks have reduced the mudra loan interest rate to 2%. It is a unique opportunity to get a mudra loan for business at the lowest rate.

Now mudra schemes have doubled the amount of online e-mudra loan from November 2020 from 50000 to 100000 and besides many banks are providing mudra loans at very lower interest rates.

What is MUDRA scheme?

As per the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Scheme (PMMY) guidelines, MUDRA Bank has launched three initiative products named SHISHU, KISHOR & TARUN which indicate the growth stage and financing needs of micro units, startups or entrepreneurs.

MUDRA refinances through state level institutions such as NBFCs, MFIs, Regional Rural Banks, District Banks, Cooperative Banks, Nationalized Banks, Private Banks, Primary Credit Institutions and other intermediaries. Apart from the bank, the government has set up another bank in the name of Vikas Vitt Sansthan i.e. Vikas Vitt Bank

What is the Mudra loan interest rate?

According to sources, banks charge around the base rate + 1% to 7% minimum.

The interest rate may be higher depending on the risk and profile of the client and may be different for all banks. Therefore, before applying for a MUDRA loan, check your nearest bank branches once. There is no subsidy under PMMY Mudra loan.
To use the loan, it may be necessary to comply with the conditions of the credit agency. Mudra loan interest rates may vary from bank to bank. Visit a branch to find out the current interest rate.

Who is eligible for a MUDRA loan?
